田舎の花々を観察していたモリスは、壁をつたって上品な香りを放っているジャスミンに魅了され、この総柄のパターンをつくりました。ジャスミンの歴史はモリスが家族とケルム スコット・マナーに引っ越した1871年に遡り、まさしくその庭の風景に影響されたものでした。Observing flowers in the countryside and absorbing the delicate scent of jasmine climbing country walls led Morris to create this all-over pattern.
